A REASON TO STAND- ASHLEE BIRK

When I started this blog and my brand my purpose was to not only focus on physical health but also mental health. Without a positive spirit and being in your right mind physical healthy really means nothing at all.  After connecting with many women and moms I have found that I am not alone in this journey called life. I have learned that it doesn’t matter how hard you fall, it matters how you get up!

13233282_10208175212131501_1201003936_nI have had the pleasure of getting to chat with someone name Ashlee Birk.

Ashlee Birk is the author of the blog and book series entitled The Moments We Stand.  In them she tells of her personal journey of healing and seeking peace after the murder of her husband Emmett. On March 11, 2011 Emmett was shot and killed in a Walgreens parking lot by the husband of a secret mistress. Ashlee was made a widow at the age of 28 with 5 children—the youngest being just six weeks old. Her husband’s death left her with many messes to clean up—the hardest being her own broken soul as well as five others. She spent hours with detectives, Emmett’s business, a month long murder trial, and therapists . . . trying to piece together the broken pieces of the past. None of which helped her feel whole.

Their story of hope has been featured on Dateline NBC, Dr. Phil, Fox News, KTVB, Deseret News, dailymail.com, Bella Magaine and Real People Magazine in the UK, Idaho Living, Boise’s Six on Your side, Utah’s Fresh Living, and familyshare.com.

Ashlee continues to write and is the founder of A Reason to Stand—a conference bringing hope and healing to communities and families.
Through her trials she has learned the importance of a personal relationship with her Father in Heaven. She has witnessed many miracles through the devastation of so much heartache. She has found light in the darkest of moments—and she has found hope when she thought it was lost. It is through Christ that true healing has come.

Ashlee started a blog The Moments We Stand to cope with her grief and start the process of healing. She is now speaking to others and holding her own conferences. ” A conference that gathers together people of strength. Empowering. Uplifting. Enlightning. For anyone who has ever had life not go the way they had planned. Overcoming the trauma of writing a new story by embracing truths, obtaining tools and walking away with strength, peace and hope.”

Ashlee will have her fourth conference here in Lexington, SC and I am so glad she reached out to me because this is very far away from home! The event is June 4 in Lexington , SC and she has been gracious enough to give OH CHIC MOM readers 2 tickets to the event.

I can honestly say I probably wouldn’t be able to forgive or even be as strong as Ashlee. I believe there is a reason why people are placed in your life and I believe this experience will make me a better person. Although I have not experience tragedy and honestly I hope to never experience that tragedy, I am thankful that I can meet someone whose faith got them through this. You never know how strong you are until your back is against the wall and the only choice you have is to be strong!

WELCOME ASHLEE TO THIS WONDERFUL STATE OF SOUTH CAROLINA!

HOW CAN YOU WIN THOSE TWO TICKETS TO THE CONFERENCE?
