Losing weight or getting healthy for me meant Lean Cuisine, counting calories and doing a fad “detox”! Honestly I can’t remember when I ate a lean cuisine.

Don’t get me wrong they are tasty, but there is crap in them and the sodium in one meal is off the charts. Ever since I made a commitment to this new lifestyle September 2015 I knew that I needed to educate myself on portions, food and anything I am putting into my body. I am still learning and know I have changed my eating patterns so much. Instead of snacking on chips, I snack on nuts, veggies or fruit. Yes, if I crave chocolate– I have an amazing chocolate bar protein bar that I live on.

It’s amazing what your body will do if you treat it right with adequate nutrition, sleep and exercise! Are you committed to turning your life around? The goal in life is not to get skinny but to get healthy!

3 WAYS TO NATURALLY DETOX YOUR BODY

It seems like everyone is detoxing nowadays, from either TV, social media or the stuff they are putting in their body. Halloween is right around the corner and lets just say everyone in my house is required to detox a week after!

Many people buy expensive detoxes from their local vitamin store and can’t even pronounce some of the ingredients put in their “detoxes”. If you look around you there are natural ways you can get rid of the toxins put in your body for almost FREE!

Here are 3 ways to naturally detox your body:

  1. Eat a diet with ripe fruits, green leafy veggies- When you are detoxing your body naturally you always want to increase your intake with fruits and veggies. Not just apples and celery but fruits with nutritional substance. Kale, Spinach, Chards and Bok Choy is always a go to when I am detoxing.

   2. Drink lemon water- Evidence has proven by drinking lemon water will increase your metabolism. Also, lemons contain Vitamin C & some potassium, which if your immune system is like mine well anything can help. So don’t feel bad asking for extra lemons on the side to go with your water when you are out at a restaurant.

3. Get adequate amount of sleep- Sleeping puts your body into a repair mode. People that don’t get at least 7 hours of sleep have a high percentage of losing body fat. Sleep and your metabolism is controlled by the same part of the brain. When you are sleepy  a certain hormones is triggered and that increases appetite.

So don’t go out and spend your money on an expensive detox, you can now spend your money on that fitness device you wanted! How do you detox your body?

“Fall in love with taking care of yourself. Mind, Body and Spirit”

Listen to your mind, body and soul. These words are so important to me. I listen to my body and thoughts. Does that sound a little nutty?! Probably! I am very into listening to whatever my inner voice is telling me. Last week I decided I needed a week break. I finally found out why my body was not healing, it was because I was not getting any rest. Life is hectic, life is busy and self inflicted pain is something that could be avoided. I needed a break from social media and blogging. How could I need a break from something I truly love? I love my kids but this weekend I am dropping them off at my parents house and this mama will have a break.

I created this blog because I wanted to first blog my journey on losing the baby weight but then I really got into fitness and my life has truly changed.



 

Fitness Check 

This mama gained 5lbs and it wasn’t in muscle. With everyone being sick including myself I skipped the gym, the home work outs and ate like there was no tomorrow. TODAY, starts my jump rope challenge! I am so excited and its similar to my plank challenge which was a big hit! I have cut out carbs for lunch and dinner and increasing my veggies with every meal! I fell back on the bandwagon of drinking soda, so that is completely out! I am human, I cry and I crave carbs (in that order)! The great thing about being in my position is I know what my body needs and how I can take care of my body. Disappointment is the word that has taken over. Not because I gained the weight, but because I got in a place in my life where I didn’t realize I needed a break but put myself into a downward spiral.

I am human, I am a mom and a blogger and this is my life. I love to be transparent because that’s why I am here!

TODAY, starts back to taking care of me and eating right again (since I just downed a bag of chips yesterday)! The positive is dinner is still really healthy, and I am so excited that my kids love to eat healthy at least I am doing that right! I am a mom of two, a wife, I struggle everyday like you with good decisions and bad decision but everyday is a learning lesson and thats what make life beautiful.
